This 1 Belief Is Destroying Your Business (and How To Fix It)
Do you think it’s very difficult to find quality team members? You need to read this now
This is the 143rd consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Millions of businesses shut down every year.
Even if you’d assume a random number of 1 million businesses that get shut every year, that would mean today is the last day of business for at least 2,740 businesses.
Just the impact of reading that statement is extremely unsettling, right?
If you were to ask for the reason for shut downs a large chunk of these business owners would say that lack of a robust team of responsible and accountable team members was the reason for their downfall.
What if I were to tell you, 100% of the businesses that shut down due to lack of the said reliable and responsible team can be salvaged?
When a business owner blames the reason for the business to shut doors on the team, it’s not the failure of the team. Rather, it’s the business owner who needs to be blamed.
It’s the business owner who needs to introspect and realise they’re at fault, before they point a finger towards the dysfunctional team.
There’s an absolutely basic fundamental fact of business.
You will never find good people to build a team. It is impossible to find 100% people who are absolutely tailor made to fit into your company's culture and who can start working like a natural fit in your company.
The only way to deal with the situation is to acknowledge, understand and accept the fact that team building is one of your most crucial responsibilities.
It’s your job to find people, train them, as you also focus towards building the company culture, keep helping the team get aligned with the goals of the company.
Eventually you (and your team members) will build a team one person at a time which is the best representation of the kind of company that you are building.
Long story short it is impossible to find 100% great talent but it is definitely possible to convert every talent into a great talent with time, training, patience, capital, and the right mindset.
