Make this checklist your priority if you’re serious about being successful in the future
This is the 137th consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Status Quo
Want to see what the future looks like?
You need to start with getting a better understanding about today.
Future is formed by studying and observing trends of today that are growing big.
Of course, this is not easy and can get overwhelming occasionally, but it’s not as difficult/ impossible as it may seem.
For example, let’s look at a few trends from yester years that were (emerging) trends just until a few years ago:
01 - Cryptocurrencies
02 - Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)
03 - Electrical Vehicles
04 - 4G/ 5G
05 - Web3
Can you identify which out of these 5 have managed to survive the test of time and have become more commonplace today, which trends are still trying to find a footing for themself, and which ones have perished?
(My answer to this question is shared at the end of the note)
The point I’m trying to drive is that when you pick the right horse (read: trend) at the right time, the growth that you will experience can and will be exponential.
Near Future
The purpose of this note is to help you understand 5 trends that are going to become non-negotiable so start mastering them one at a time, if you care to be in the top 5% of earners in your industry.
01 - Artificial Intelligence is your best friend
Love AI, hate AI, but you surely can’t avoid AI.
AI today is where computers were in the 1980s, where the internet was in the early 2000s. You see how disempowered people are today if they’re not digitally literate and/ or not tech savvy.
Understand what AI is, what LLMs are, how LLMs work, understand the mindset of how to communicate with AI and craft better prompts and get results that help you get the work done.
02 - Facing the camera is not an option
When cameras were introduced, only the top political dignitaries would face the camera to record messages for the public.
This eventually gave rise to media channels, and they started regulating what would be captured on camera.
To cover the costs of equipment and make a profit, entertainment and sports content was created which meant sports stars and entertainment celebrities started facing the cameras.
Over time, the top businessmen started facing the cameras to push their corporate agenda.
In the last decade millions of people ended up becoming creators and started facing the camera to generate income from the same.
Are you seeing/ following the pattern here?
The sooner you learn how to get comfortable with facing the camera, the better would be the trajectory of your success.
Honestly, you’re already a little late, so you better pull up your socks fast.
03 - Your community is your personal brand
Want to overtake (most of) the millions of content creators of the world?
Don’t create content to generate an income.
Create content to build communities.
Nurture communities to build a connection and trust.
Piggyback on the trust and connection to generate your income.
If this is unclear, I’d be happy to continue this conversation, so feel free to reach out or comment below and ask your questions
04 - Storytelling is the most important skill
Would you still be reading this post, if I wrote this post as a simple educational listicle telling you “The 5 skills that will help you to become successful in the next decade”?
You have read/ experienced/ visualised at least 5-6 stories until this point.
You’ve already read 600+ words if you’re reading this statement.
Not all stories start with, “Once upon a time…”
We are all storytellers. You just need to learn how to hone this skill a little better.
Learn the art of (better) storytelling and you will be shocked to see how it helps you in every conversation/ content piece of your life.
05 - Marketing and sales = success
Marketing is to your career/business what the digestive system is to your body.
You cook healthy and nutritional food (read: meaningful content) to feed your body (read: to build connections with your audience).
Sales is to your career/ business what the nervous system is to your body.
Your brain (read: sales) controls all aspects and functions of your body (read: career/ business).
Your spinal cord (read: funnel) connects your brain (read: sales) to all other parts/ functions of your body (read: career/ business).
Your nerves (read: business functions/ career aspects) branch out from your spinal cord (read: funnel) and transmit the signal from the brain (read: sales) and convert the signal into the activity that keeps your body (read: career/ business) moving forward.
The moment you start mastering one aspect of marketing and/or sales, you start unlocking new avenues and opportunities of growth in various (seemingly disconnected) aspects for your career/ business.
Not So Distant Future
01 - People who are comfortable with using AI are leaders who are leading/ training people who are not proficient with the skillset. Most people who are confused/ perplexed by AI will be jobless or will be doing menial/ low paying jobs.
02 - People who face the camera are soaring heights and are unlocking possibilities that most people can’t even dream of. Their confidence, charisma and personality shines through every time they face the camera and more often than not, these people are so much better/ kinder/ inspiring in reality than they are on the camera
03 - People who own communities of more than 10,000 people are the personal brands that matter. These community owners earn more than people who have more than a million followers on social media platforms.
04 - People who are great storytellers are also great at building and nurturing communities. They also manage to face the camera with a lot of ease, and they are also excellent prompters when it comes to getting the work done via AI.
05 - People who have gotten good at marketing and sales are not just reading this note, but they’re also creating notes like these for their personal brand, they’re collaborating with me, they’re being interviewed across the world, their brands are clocking revenues in millions of dollars, and a lot more.
Conclusion
If you can visualise yourself doing the 5 things that I’ve mentioned, start executing.

P.S.: Image made on Meta AI using the prompt, “Imagine a working professional getting out of a luxury car to enter into their office in 2035 in a metro city of India”
My analysis of the yesteryear trends.
01 - Cryptocurrencies - Most cryptocurrencies besides Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana have lost steam
02 - Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) - A wave in 2021, which has already been registered in the pages of history as a failure. I think NFTs are amazing and will make a comeback with a different name a few quarters/ years down the road, with a different name/ terminology, but that’s a story for another day.
03 - Electrical Vehicles - A trend that keeps getting bigger with every passing day
04 - 4G/ 5G - 4G is already starting to become a part of the history, 5G is a lot more common than most people realise (in bigger cities of the world) and 6G is just around the corner
05 - Web3 - The biggest trend that is still under development and will change the way we operate/ use the internet. However, Web3 still needs time to mature. My personal view - Web3 is bigger than Artificial Intelligence.
