9 Step Tried and Tested Framework To Make Unlimited Sales
Want to close any sale? This is the only framework you need to master.
Introduction
How would you react if I were to tell you that every sales contract in the world applies the exact same 9 step framework irrespective of the product/ service/ value of the contract?
Don’t believe me?
Let’s go through all the 9 steps and try to imagine yourself in the situation, as if you’re the salesperson and I’m giving you the step-by-step guide as you sit in front of a client.
What product/ service are you selling?
You decide.
What’s the value/ terms of the contract?
You decide.
I’ll just tell you what to do throughout the entire process and you will see how things just seem to fall in place, “naturally”.
Ready?
Let’s Go and sell.
01- Build Rapport
The moment a sales consultation meeting starts, your first job is to make the person feel comfortable and at ease.
Ask them if you can offer them tea/ coffee, if they have driven for more than 30 minutes to meet you, offer them a snack/ sandwich and make them feel relaxed before you start talking business.
02 - Understand The Pain
Once the prospect (they will become and shall be referred to as clients when the sales contact gets finalised) is at ease, you ask them what the challenges are they are facing with regards to your business/ area of expertise.
03 - Understand The Need
While getting some understanding of the pain, ask them what is their assessment with regards to, what are they looking for? According to them, what would an ideal solution to their pain look/ feel like?
04 - Assess The Situation Together
Reaffirm the areas of pain and get a confirmation on the fact that you're understanding and their expectations from the solution is on the same page.
05 - Propose Solution
Now your job begins. Stay true and ethical to your business. Only if your product/ service can solve the problem that the prospect is facing, and if your product can fulfil the exact need as expected by the client, show them how purchasing from your business is the solution they need.
Help them visualise the solution after they have used/ implemented your product/ service and show them proof of how clients with similar needs are satisfied using your product/ service.
06 - Make an Offer
Read the room. See if the prospect is now excited to get to know more about the product/ service.
Ask them, if they see how your product/ service is the solution they have been looking for. Get a verbal confirmation from them where they say something on the lines of, “Oh Yes! Your idea/ product/ service looks promising.”
Only when you hear words which convey the sentiment as shared in the previous line, that’s when you tell the prospect your offer and how they can become a customer of your business.
Present them an offer (already created) and show them how this offer is a great bargain and also solves the problem that the prospect is dealing with.
07 - Object Handling
Every once in a while, when your offer-prospect match is a perfect fit, you may end up skipping this step.
However, if a prospect is not comfortable with making a decision, don’t get offended. Ask them what their objections are and tackle them one at a time.
08 - Finalise Payment Terms
Once you have managed to pacify all the objections that the prospect brings up, you will assist them to convert their indecisiveness into a confident yes and get them ready to get onboarded with your business as a client.
When this happens, make sure you finalise the payment and delivery terms before you shake hands.
09- Close
Once everything is ironed out, you provide them a payment link or request for their card and get them to swipe and get started at the earliest.
Conclusion
So, do you now see the impact of this framework?
Even if you were trying to sell a book, or a jumbo jet, I hope you could visualise the process and feel confident to close the sale.
