Introduction
Before you try to sell a product or service, gather people around a common mission.
- People who believe in your vision.
- People who understand the problem you're solving.
- People who’ll keep you accountable.
Because what you’re really building is not a product or a brand. You’re building a tribe.
Why community before business?
When you start with the community, you attract people who already believe in you.
They don't just want to buy your product — they want to support your journey.
They’re not just customers. They are co-creators of your success.
That changes the game.
You're not marketing to strangers. You're deepening trust with believers.
People pay more when they feel they belong
Community members aren’t price sensitive.
They pay more because they aren’t just buying — they’re investing in a shared mission.
That’s the real reason behind premium brands.
Look at Nike
Nike doesn’t try to sell to “everyone who wants shoes.”
They built a community of athletes and achievers, people who chase greatness.
Nike gives that identity a shape, and the community rewards it.
Same with Apple
Apple isn’t just a tech brand.
It’s a symbol of creativity and independence. The Apple ecosystem is built to make users feel more connected, more capable, and Apple fans love being part of that experience.
That’s why they pay more. That’s why they stay loyal.
Food for thought
In a world of lookalike products, the real premium comes from meaning.
When you build a community, you don’t have to convince people to buy.
They’ll happily pay to be a part of something bigger.

P.S.: Image made on Meta AI using the prompt, “Create an image of a business owner who is obsessed with solving a serious challenge in the life of their customers (athletes) and the business owner is at an event where all community members are interacting and purchasing from the brand”
