The Only Foolproof (and Simple) Method to Get Lucky in Life
It's all about understanding the three parameters and one factor of luck
This is the 164th consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Why do only some people get lucky?
The only reason why a handful of people manage to get lucky is because they have managed to decode the formula of luck.
Like everything else in life, luck follows a pattern.
Want to know what’s the pattern of getting lucky?
The three parameters of luck
Luck is a concoction of sorts.
It’s a result of three ingredients being in place in the right proportions.
Want to unlock luck?
Start working on these three parameters for yourself.
The three parameters that you need to start optimising for (on an immediate basis) are:
01 - (Being) Present
Have you seen someone manage to grab a kite that’s falling on the ground, if they’re three blocks away from the expected landing position of the kite?
You need to be present to grab luck at the right spot.
How do you reach the right spot? This is where the second parameter comes to play.
02 - (Being) Poised
Imagine you’re watching a game of cricket right now.
The batsman has just hit the ball which ideally he should have skipped. It was a full-toss ball and now the entire stadium is tracking the ball which is gliding in the direction of a fielder who had to basically sprint 10-12 steps to reach the spot where the ball is expected to land.
In a matter of seconds, the fielder catches the ball and the batsman loses the wicket.
How did the fielder reach the exact spot?
They were present and poised to determine where the ball would land.
The third parameter of luck helped him achieve this level of poise though.
Let’s see what that third parameter is.
03 - (Being) Prepared
The fielder managed to play the game and stand on the field during the game, only because he was prepared, right?
This may seem like a given, but look carefully and you will observe how unprepared some (read: many people are) to grab the opportunities or even show up when that’s the first thing that’s expected from them to unlock timely success.
However, what if I tell you there is one extremely important factor that you need to master, to make unlocking these three parameters (almost) feel like a cakewalk.
Want to know what’s that factor? Keep reading.
Most important factor that unlocks the three parameters
The most important factor that the parameters of being present, poised and prepared is perseverance.
Yes, there is no luck without the right amount of perseverance.
You will never reach the top of the mountain, unless you walk through the path of the trek.
You will never cross the finishing line of the marathon, unless you run the race.
Fortune favors the brave and luck favours those who persevere. There are no second thoughts or negotiations about this.
Conclusion

Let me know in the comments about your journey.
How prepared do you feel to embrace opportunities when they show in your life? How poised are you as a personality and how “present in the moment” kind of a person would you say you are?
One of the most common reasons why people don’t manage to unlock the luck in their lives despite working really hard is because they’re operating with little to no clarity in their life. What’s the accuracy of this statement?
I’m not sure, but if I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t risk this.
And in any case, what’s the harm in sharing an interesting post with someone who can unlock a lot of benefit from reading it?
