From Unknown to Unforgettable: How to Craft a Compelling Personal Brand
This is how anybody can build their personal brand
This is the 193rd consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Introduction
When was the last time you walked into a store you’d no clue about and made a purchase of more than $10?
Of course, this doesn’t apply if you were travelling.
Think carefully. We (humans as a species) have stopped trusting other humans/ brands/ businesses unless we read about them on social media, on the internet, in some review or watch a video about them on YouTube, etc.
It’s just a matter of time having a personal brand is going to be just as common, essential and mandatory for you to get a job/ clients.
I know this may sound intimidating to you, if you don’t have a personal brand, yet.
Don’t worry. Continue reading and in the next 6 minutes or less you’re going to read a step-by-step breakdown of what you need to build a personal brand that will get you reputation, recognition and revenues.
Build Your Personal Brand in 6 Steps
Brace yourself and start taking notes
01 - Learn/ refine skills
Everything starts here. If you don’t have distinguished skills, your personal brand is not going to be unique. And if your personal brand is not unique, you’re going to be one among the crowd.
The only way to avoid this situation is to “skill up”. Learn a skill, master it over time with practice. Keep adding to the skillset muscle with other ancillary skills that will help you create a profile that’s unlike anyone else in your market.
02 - Create content on the skills
How will your skills convert into a personal brand? When you start creating content about what you’ve learned and how you will help your target audience with the skills you’ve mastered.
Good content will help you get noticed, but you need to learn how to create great content. How will you do that? This post from my Instagram can come to your rescue and give you the answers you’re looking for.

03 - Create a product/ service
Now that you’re creating content that’s resonating with your target audience, you need to build a product/ service around your skills and your personal brand. This will allow you to redirect your audience from your social media profiles to your business/ email newsletter network.
04 - Create an offer
People don’t buy your product. They buy your offer. Only when they’re convinced about your offer and make the purchase will they get the chance to use your product/ service to know how good your product(s)/ service(s) actually are.
Hence, before you start generating traction on your social media profiles, make sure your offer is ready for your target audience/ prospects.
05 - Sell your offer to your target market
Even the best offer will never sell itself. A big part of building your personal brand is to master the art of sales. If you have any questions about sales, just search the word “sales” in the search of this blog/ substack and you will unlock a treasure trove of content.
You could also just drop your question in the comments below and I’d be delighted to answer your questions in the comments or in one of the future posts.
06 - Rinse. Repeat
This is the most underrated and often overlooked aspect of building a robust personal brand. Building a personal brand is not a destination, but a journey. You will always have scope to learn more, improve, and make something better. So, the more time, effort and energy you put in the process of refining your personal brand, the better will be the output of the process.
