The One Reliable Strategy to Sell at Jaw-dropping Premium Prices
Demanding premium prices is easy when you know exactly what to do
Ever wonder what does it take to sell any product at a premium?
(I wonder why this is not taught in the best b-schools)
First, let's come to a common understanding regarding the word "premium".
Premium = selling a product similar to other alternatives available in the market at prices that are 20 - 200% more than the average.
This factor is most commonly seen in the real estate market.
The product sold in the real estate market is anyway sold at a premium, and yet, in every market you may end up finding two properties which could be adjacent to each other, and yet one building could charge a premium.
How does this even work?
Selling at a premium is a perfect blend of an art and a skill.
The skill is to create a situation that allows a business/ brand to create the perfect situation that allows them to sell their product at a premium.
And you will be shocked to learn that creating the perfect situation is NOT rocket science.
To sell any product at a premium, a business needs to ensure 2 things to be communicated clearly in the offer:
01. What makes your product EXCLUSIVE? and
02. What makes your product UNIQUE.
That's it.
I know on face value this may seem too good to be true but think closely.
Every product that gets sold at a premium capitalise only on these 2 factors.
How do businesses make communicate that their product is exclusive?
They use words like limited units, by invite only, few units left, start a pre-order, etc.
How do businesses make communicate that their product is unique?
They use words like, "the product is designed/ hand-crafted/ made from people or raw material or knowledge of experienced craftsperson/ specialist
Think about this. Isn't this what makes the apartment/ commercial space in an adjacent property more premium?
Isn't this how a smartphone/ laptop/ pair of shoes/ wristwatch get sold at a premium as compared to a standard product in the same category?
