Is Creating Content Necessary If You Want To Become Successful?
The short answer is YES. Read The post for the long answer
Your success is directly proportional to your personal brand
(The implication of this idea is non-negotiable)
Imagine this. Someone you care about dearly isn't feeling well and needs a surgery.
How do you select the doctor?
More importantly, how do you trust this stranger (the doctor) with the life of your loved one?
The most common answer to this question would be, "talk to people in my network and try to get an opinion on the doctor. Look online, and try to see the achievements of the doctor, etc."
If you resonate with this answer, let me tell you; this answer also holds the key to your professional/ business success, for the rest of your life.
Today, every business owner, brand, working professional is a brand.
If you want to stand out in your industry you just don't need to have impeccable knowledge and skills of your domain. That's a minimum requirement.
You will also need a pleasing personality, so that every person you interact with can feel assured and confident that you're a genuine person.
But, most importantly, you also need a public (read: social media) presence that reflects your skillset out in practice.
These are the new rules of the game. The consumer behaviour has evolved.
Today, many consumers refuse to enter a restaurant until they check the pictures of the ambiance, the food, the menu on social media apps.
People refrain from buying a new brand until they see at least a few positive reviews online or check the social media page of the brand on the app of their choice.
This is not just limited to businesses. Imagine lives of a service provider like a dance teacher, a yoga teacher, etc.
Your social media presence, your content is the first line of introduction for your business and your brand.
Today, being present on social media is not an advantage, it's an absolute necessity.
If you're not building content and if you fail to create a connection with your audience, you're basically telling the market that your competitor is a better alternative, and its best if people go to them, rather than coming to you.
I know this may not go down well with many people. After all, your expertise is in your domain knowledge, your skillset, and not in creating content.
To that, I'll just say... Don't shoot the messenger.
I'm just doing my job of informing you.
You can always learn a new skill, OR just find a content manager who will cost you 5% of your monthly income today but will become the reason for 100% growth of your income and brand in the near future.
I'd love to know your thoughts on this subject in the comments.
Do you agree/ disagree to my POV? Let me know.
