You're not a loser if you don't start a business
(It's high time someone spoke the truth)
Imagine we are living in a hypothetical world. In this world, being a chef is the most prestigious job in the world.
Everyone is working really hard, and when someone secures an admission in a culinary school, they just focus on becoming a chef.
Think what would happen if we were living in a world like this?
What would happen to the restaurant industry in about a decade if we were living in a world like this?
Do you think the service staff would do a good job?
Would the service staff be enthusiastic to work in an industry where they couldn't get the designation that's most respected in their industry?
How would your experience be when you visit a restaurant full of demotivated servers/ captains/ support staff?
For any restaurant to function, the chef plays a vital role in success of the business, HOWEVER, only a great chef can't guarantee success of a restaurant.
You need a team where the service staff, the wit staff, the management staff and the kitchen staff are working in harmony for a restaurant to become a successful business.
The reason why I shared this example is to bring forth a challenge that I see among people today at large.
Everyone I talk to wants to become an entrepreneur.
I'm an entrepreneur and I mean no disrespect to anybody when I say starting and running a business is not everyone's cup of tea.
Plus, if everyone gets into the zone of wanting to start a business, how will any business function without having enough motivated people in the market to hire to join their team?
The smartest thing to do in today's times is to learn a skill and master it to such a level that you become irreplaceable in your task/ role/ responsibility.
When you become an irreplaceable part of a winning team/ business, you forgo the risk of starting a business, putting your career and capital at risk.
Also, the best team members are always known to grow as the business grows.
Learn and master a skill. Find yourself a company/ firm that identifies and respects your contribution and pays you fair, and don't risk being an entrepreneur.
Pro-Tip: If you wanted to become an entrepreneur, come what may, you wouldn't have read the entire post.
