Protect Your Personal Brand: Avoid This One Dangerous Trap
It’s scary to realise that it’s so easy to destroy your personal brand with just one habit (which is so easy to avoid).
This is the 170th consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Introduction
The best way to build a career/ business on a fast track today is to build a personal brand.
Doesn’t matter your industry, your area of expertise, your years of experience, content creation has created an equal ground for anybody and everybody to start afresh and build an empire for themselves, so to speak.
However, as liberating as this may sound, the only way to do this is to do it the right way.
If you’re serious about building your personal brand, make sure you avoid this one mistake at all costs.
The Biggest Mistake
Your personal brand is just as good as the promises you keep.
It’s a result of what your core audience thinks/ says/ feels about you, your content and your personality.
Hence, the only way to sustain the process of building and growing your personal brand is to be utmost authentic at all times.
Say what you mean and absolutely mean what you say.
Missing your mark occasionally (read: rarely) will go under the radar, but if your audience gets used to your promises and the moment you start slipping, you’re putting everything at risk.
The trust your audience has in you is the only monetizable commodity you hold, and it’s impossible for anybody to gain trust of the audience at large if they can’t stay true to their words.
Conclusion
This may seem like a rather easy act to live up to, but if/ when you get into this game with unclear intentions, you will end up putting too much at risk.
Start your journey of building your personal brand only when you’re absolutely ready to be at your best behaviour with your community till the last day of your content creation/ personal brand journey.
