Introduction
I recently met a batchmate from college over a coffee and she was lamenting about the challenges of being a corporate employee.
She has been working in the real estate space for the last 15 years now and for the last 5 years she has seen barely any growth in her career.
The “curse of the middle management” is starting to hurt her earnings now.
We got talking and what I shared with her is probably going to be useful for all working professionals and business owners alike.
The most important component of growth and success
Pick up a case study of any successful person you know and look carefully.
You will find a simple pattern. Successful people achieve their accolades by getting work done.
In simple words, they don’t work by putting in the hours.
Instead, their hours are invested in managing teams, processes, systems and people who get the work done as per the recommended strategy.
Hard work gets you recognised and rewarded.
However, finding ways and means to get people to work hard under your leadership and achieve goals is what will help you unlock exponential growth/ profits in your career/ business.
Conclusion
How easy/ difficult is it for you to delegate your work or ask for help from others?
If you feel people skills are not one of your biggest strengths, hope this note has given you enough reason to start working on honing this skill set on an immediate basis.
However, if you’re relatively new in your business/ career (00 to 05 years) and would like to talk about some other challenges beyond building/ growing your team, you can reach out to me for 1:1 consultations. If you’d like to explore this option , feel free to reach out to me and let’s connect.
