The Customer Mindset That Will Make or Break Your Business
The sooner you understand and accept this brutal truth about the customer’s mindset, the better for your business (and peace of mind).
This is the 154th consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Introduction
I’m sure you must have heard the phrase, “it’s not personal. It’s just business.”
Today’s note will double click on this idea and when you understand the actual essence of what I’m going to share with you, your approach and attitude towards business will change forever.
This may be a difficult pill to swallow, but it’s probably the most important pill that you will have to swallow, and by the end of the note, I’m sure you will agree to this claim.
The Brutal Fact
The customer doesn’t care.
They don’t care about your hard work, they don’t care about your expertise, they don’t care about your degrees, your years of experience, the amount of loan that you’re supposed to pay back, they don’t care about your sleepless nights, they don’t care about how much you’ve sacrificed to make your product/ service/ brand reach to the market.
They just don’t care.
Why?
Because the only thing that the customer cares about is their benefit, their experience with your brand/ business and how buying/ using your product brings a positive change in their life.
Period.
You could have the best product compared to all the competitors in the market.
You could be offering the most technically sound alternative.
Your pricing can be high/ competitive/ low as compared to every other alternative the customer has in the market.
None of these factors will matter when the customer is making a purchase decision.
So, when making a sales related conversation, make sure you focus on:
01 - Why should the customer bother to buy your product?
What immediate and urgent need of the customer does your product solve?
02 - Why should the customer buy from you?
How does your product offer what no other alternative offers and how will this lead to a better/ faster/ easier result and/or impact in the life of the customer?
And
03 - Why should they buy today/ immediately?
Why is delaying the purchase decision going to impact the customer’s life negatively and how quickly does your product start working and showing visible results to the customer?
Answer these questions with absolute clarity in every sales meeting/ conversation and see how the conversion ratio of your business reaches the next orbit within no time.
My Personal Experience
At Paycheck To Profit, for the longest time, I was making the fundamental mistake of communicating how the coaching in Paycheck To Profit Academy is designed after months and years of hard work, training, learning, and how it makes the learning process of the students easier.
While all of that is 100% true, the impact in the lives of the prospects was very underwhelming at the start.
I’ve now implemented the answers to the aforementioned questions and I’m witnessing a visible growth in the sales volumes of my business.
If you’d like to witness how I manage to communicate these decision making factors to my prospects, make sure you clear 2 hours from your schedule and attend The PROFIT Masterclass. Join the ProfitClan and you will receive the invitation and details to the next masterclass on your email.
Conclusion
First things first, I’m proud of you for reaching this point of the note.

There’s a reason why I typed that bit particularly in bold font.
However, now that you’ve read this note, I’m sure you’re feeling humbled and aligned with how business and markets work. Frankly, that was the intention of this note, to begin with.
Now that you know what your customer/ market is looking for, now that you know what they prioritize, make sure you set your expectations correctly and start aligning your tasks and optimise for the best customer experience in your business/ brand/ industry.
