The ONE Trait That Separates Successful Entrepreneurs from The Rest
You're Not Fit To Be an Entrepreneur If You're Not Ready for This
This is the 142nd consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
The juggling entrepreneur
Ever seen a juggler and wondered, “Boy that looks so difficult!”
Well, if you look closely, the life of a business owner is not very different from that of a juggler.
Technically, a juggler juggles balls/ bowling pins/ knives only when they’re performing their act, but an entrepreneur has to deal with a lot more on a daily basis.
The difference between a startup and a business
In today’s world of venture capital investing, the trend is shifting towards a two founders’ startup, but in essence, the culture of a startup is different in its own right when compared to a business.
A startup starts with the prospect/ thought process of creating a MVP, creating a pitch deck, finding investors, and the trajectory can go in any direction from that point.
However, almost all businesses start as a single person business.
Until the business owner finds a balance in the business with their product-market fit, the business owner can’t afford the luxury to start building a team.
Even once a business owner starts hiring for a small time, for the longest time, the business owner is predominantly responsible for 99% of the decisions of the business.
The blessing/ curse of decision making
In simple words, the job of an entrepreneur is predominantly to make decisions, day in and day out.
Since the buck stops at the business owner, starting and running a business makes a person a very strong human character.
True business owners don’t fear making tough decisions, taking prompt actions, adapting to any circumstance/ situation that life/ business brings their way.
There are no options to say “no” when it comes to owning a business.
The deal breaker in business
Want to become a business owner?
Make sure you grow a thick skin and learn to say yes to every situation that you face.
Yes, you will get tired, but you will have to show up.
Yes, you will get scared, but you will have to show up.
Yes, you will fail, but you will have to show up again.
Yes, you will be nervous, but you will have to make a decision.
If you’re not ready to make such a commitment to your business, I think you’re better off finding yourself a job (and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that).
If you feel you’re overwhelmed and would like to get a better understanding of the world of business, you’d like to talk to a business owner who’s been in the arena for almost 2 years at the type of typing this note and would like to consult with me for the same, feel free to reach out to me and let’s connect.
