The Most Magical Aspect About Business: Loss is Never Final
The most underrated and underlooked aspect about business
This is the 179th consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Introduction
Your magnitude of success is directly dependent on your capacity to deal with the mistakes you make on the way.
One of the best categories of people who embody this mindset and live with this way of life is business owners.
Confused about how this works? Make sure you read this note till the end.
Business and failure
In more ways than one, failures in business is a metric of success. Well, I know this may sound contradictory, but it’s true.
A business owner will always make far more mistakes than the total number of absolute right decisions.
Making mistakes in business is a feature of business, and not a bug.
However, a mistake doesn’t hold a business owner down.
A business owner with the right attitude looks at (and treats) mistakes as a mechanism to get data of what’s not working for the business, what needs to be changed and what needs to be altered.
Most good decisions in any business are an iteration of an idea that failed in the past.
If there is one thing I’d like every human to learn from the entrepreneurial mindset, it would be to not get bogged down by mistakes, but to use mistakes as an opportunity to identify the gaps and get better by working on what failed the last time.
Conclusion
Be honest to yourself and answer this question, “are you terrified of making mistakes?” Are you someone who is always risk averse to a fault? Progress in life is all about taking calculated risks. It’s a skill that can be developed over time. Without taking any risks, you’re clearly living a life where you keep underplaying on your strengths and potentials.
