The world of content creation has absolute clear demarcation of 2 categories.
Category 01: Creators who are always chasing brands/ businesses/ other creators for collaborations/ shout outs/ barters, etc.
Category 02: Creators who are dodging brands, saying no to opportunities, and have stopped negotiating because their prices are the final word and there is very little to no room for haggling, even if the biggest of the brands are involved.
Let’s talk about how you can go from being a category 01 creator to the category 02 content creator.
Build a bulletproof personal brand
The process to transition from category 01 to category 02 is rather simple.
Please mark my words, I said simple, and simple doesn’t mean easy.
The only simple thing you need to do to progress in your content creation journey is to stop bothering about collaborations, and focus only on sharpening your positioning and creating content (as per your positioning) that caters to your target audience.
Your positioning (answers to the questions “who are you creating your content for?”, “how are you different?”, and “why should your target audience bother to connect with your content?”) and your dedication towards building your core audience community is going to give you an edge that most content creators crave and what every brand looks for.
Focus on becoming the most loved creator for a very specific audience, and see how brands start lining up wanting to collaborate with you.
Don’t be the creator who chases brands. Instead, go become the creator that every brand would love to connect and associate with.
Conclusion
If you’re a content creator (aspiring and struggling creators included) and if you’re feeling under confident and/or overwhelmed with the process of content creation… You may (unknowingly) be stuck/ unclear on your niche/ positioning.
A profitable personal brand is only possible when your content creation path is crystal clear with a laser sharp funnel.
