The year is 2035.
Hundreds of millions of people across the world with masters and PhD degrees are jobless.
Offices of multinational companies that used to house hundreds (if not thousands) of people are now employing just a few hundred in every city.
The jobs of customer service, material management, order processing, have become extinct.
All of these roles in which departments of hundreds/ thousands of people for every company in 2025 are now being managed by a team of 2-20 people depending on the scale of the business.
However, there is one particular job requirement for a new designation that has emerged wherein the vacancy worldwide runs into tens of millions.
Every company with business of more than a million dollars (about ₹8.5crs in 2025 and ₹10 crores in 2035) needs at least one team member in their company with this qualification.

The most popular career in 2035 is referred to as AIMO.
Every working professional in 2035 dreams to become an AIMO in a reputed company the way people used to drool over designations like CEO/ content creator with 10+M followers in 2025.
AIMO stands for Artificial Intelligence Management Officer
What’s the job description of AIMO?
Well, as the designation suggests, this is a role designed for people with generalist personality and a thorough understanding of a particular industry and an acute understanding of artificial intelligence.
The responsibility of an AIMO depends on the size of the company and the department in which they’re hired.
An AIMO in the accounting/ finance department ensures that invoices, payments to vendors, financial management ratios, Monthly Information Systems of the entire business are managed and are running smoothly.
This person doesn’t make a single report. AIMO is responsible for ensuring that all the AI agents/ operators/ bots/ systems are functioning smoothly and are generating (and) analysing the data, creating a detailed analysis report and that the reports are being submitted to the respective stakeholders.
The most amusing aspect of business in 2035
More than half of the reports that AI systems generate are not being sent to another human stakeholder.
Multiple stakeholders in the world of business and management are AI agents/ bots/ operators.
It may seem impossible to fathom, but there are situations when one small piece of data becomes a piece of the digital jigsaw and moves through 100s of reports without a single human intervention.
That’s what makes the role of AIMO so important.
In 2025, it was impossible to imagine business without social media and an online presence.
In 2035, it’s impossible to imagine business without Artificial Intelligence and AIMO.
Conclusion
You will either have to learn how to master AI and work as an AIMO if you wish to live a life of the top 5% in the world.
Else…. I really don’t know what else, because I’m investing all my energies towards becoming a business owner who will be hiring hundreds of AIMOs down the road.
