This is Why Most Rich People Get Into Philanthropy
The happiest people aren’t chasing wealth, they’re chasing impact.
This is the 214th consecutive post on MrEmogical Notes. If you’ve been following this series and are finding value from this blog/ newsletter, please consider sharing this post with one person who you feel needs to read this for their betterment.
Introduction
Want to find someone who’s rich, financially free and genuinely happy with their life?
Look for someone who’s working tirelessly.
Yes, working hard, long hours, passionately and being financially free/ abundant are mutually exclusive (after one point).
Until you achieve financial freedom, accumulating wealth should be one of your top priorities (not the top most. Why? Well, connect with me personally or wait to get the answer to this question in a future note), but financially free people who are truly happy with the quality of their life are the ones who work tirelessly.
What’s the deeper reason behind this hard work?
Let’s unlock that and gain some more clarity about this.
Why do financially free people find more happiness by working hard (despite being so rich)?
Well, take a minute and introspect.
Think about a financially free/ successful person who you know (or know of) in your life and contemplate on what they do in their life?
Do they work hard because they don’t live a happy social life? Well, how can humans be happy if they don’t have a fulfilling social/ family life? So, that’s not their reason.
Do they work hard to earn more money? That would be the case with a very small percentage of financially free people. Financially free people understand that after one point, more money translates into no happiness. They get detached with the concept of “more money”.
Here’s the real answer.
The only way to feel successful is when you’re in control of your happiness and the easiest way to control your happiness is to make a meaningful difference in someone else’s life.
Successful people who are unhappy are trying to accumulate wealth without a reason.
Financially free, emotionally happy and successful people are trying to change the lives of people and make a positive difference in their life through their work.
A human can get financially abundant, but that is just one milestone (one of the minimum requirements) to be happy.
True happiness is unlocked when you’re wealthy, in good health, are recognized and loved by people who you care about and when you have a purpose in life.
This purpose generally results in helping a much larger set of people in any capacity. This purpose is fulfilled when you create an ecosystem to uplift more and more people in the society (beyond yourself, people who you love/ care about, your team members, etc.).
Which is why financially free people attain their happiness by working hard, long hours, passionately towards a mission which is a lot bigger than their career/ business.
Conclusion
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being as lost as a goldfish, and 10 being as focused as an eagle), how would you rate your confidence on you being aligned with your life’s mission and purpose.
My life changed entirely; the day I understood the impact of aligning myself with my purpose of helping people grow their business and/or unlock the financial abundance in their life.
