Was Walking Away The Best Decision I Ever Made?
How letting go of a business partnership led me to peace and growth
The decision that felt like failure 7 years ago is the reason I feel at peace today.
7 years ago, I was part of a small manufacturing business.
We worked with scrap PVC film.
It was labour-intensive.
The business ran almost on autopilot.
On paper, things looked stable.
There was a steady income.
The system worked.
But something was off.
My equation with my business partner was not smooth.
And slowly, that started affecting something more important.
My mental peace.
Then the pandemic happened.
And I made a decision that felt risky.
I chose to step away.
From a business that was giving me a reliable paycheck.
At that time, it felt like failure.
Walking away from stability is not easy.
You question yourself.
You wonder if you are making a mistake.
But I wanted something different.
I wanted clarity.
I wanted growth.
I wanted alignment.
So I started again.
I spent time learning.
Coaching.
Brand building.
Digital marketing.
I am still building.
Still figuring things out.
But something has changed.
I feel at peace.
Looking back, that decision was not a failure.
It was a pivot.
A necessary one.
Because not everything that works is right for you.
And not everything that ends is a loss.
Sometimes, you have to let go of what is stable to build what is aligned.
You do not have to sacrifice your peace just to hold on to something familiar.
What feels like a setback today may become something you are grateful for later.
So if something in your life is not working the way you expected, do not rush to label it as failure.
It might just be a redirection.
What is one decision in your life that felt wrong then, but makes sense now?
