A Simple Perspective To Think, Remember and Stop Complicating Business
A business that understands and adapts this can grow to unlimited scale and become a business leader
One thing that’s absolutely beyond me is “why do people like to complicate something that should inherently be simple?”
Take for starting, managing, running and scaling a business.
Technically, there are very few things in life that are so simple, uncomplicated to understand (in principle).
But people just try to complicate business to such an extent, that the entire process feels so overwhelming, difficult and at times maybe even impossible to achieve.
Time to clear the air.
How would you answer the question, “explain business in simple words?”
Leave a comment and let’s see if you and I derive a similar definition of business.
I hope you did comment.
Anyway, let’s continue with the subject at hand.
The easiest and the simplest way to explain business is:
“An entity that provides a specific value/ solution to a specific set of customers and solves a specific problem in the lives of the customers, in a dependable and reliable manner.”
How similar is my explanation to yours?
Or is your explanation simpler?
The magic is, once you understand this perspective, you will never look at business as a complex engine.
Let’s consider an example of a hotel as a business.
An entity = the hotel
that provides a specific value/ solution = hotel rooms (including other facilities and restaurants in case of a star hotel)
to a specific set of customer(s) = the target customer of every hotel is based on the category of the customers they serve. A five-star hotel will never be a value buy for a budget customer.
and solves a specific problem in the lives of the customers = availability of a clean room, washroom, and other facilities (depending on the nature of the hotel)
in a dependable and reliable manner = consistency of service with every stay in the property.
There it is.
Your simple definition of a business.
Once and for all.
