This Checklist Is The Only Tool You Need To Learn How To Sell at a Premium
Implement this checklist and a large part of your sales will be done even before the sales meeting starts
Introduction
What if I tell you selling at a premium is a lot easier than selling at competitive market prices?
Look carefully and you will realise brands that sell at a premium understand consumer psychology so well, that their marketing ends up doing the heavy lifting of most of the sales process.
Implement the following aspects of marketing for your business, and for most part, the prospect will enter a sales meeting only to close the deal.
That’s the power of this checklist.
It makes your sales process easier, with every passing day.
1. Storytelling
It is impossible to sell without creating an emotional connection with the audience.
I’d go to the extent and say, it’s impossible to create an emotional connection with the audience without mastering the art of storytelling.
You need to learn how to communicate a powerful story of your brand and create an emotional connection with the target audience, even before the conversation about buying/ selling is initiated.
2. Consistent Messaging
Have you observed that most of the products that are sold in telesales programs tend to sell at really economical prices?
The products are marketed in a manner, where the focus is on pleasing multiple needs of most people in the market.
How do you achieve this?
By having a generic messaging for the brand/ product.
On the contrary, think of any premium brand in the world, their marketing and messaging will always be consistent and would cater only to the target audience.
A romantic luxury resort would create messaging involving the feeling of love, companionship in every post on social media, the way they design their website, the way their ads are designed, etc.
Consistent messaging helps you connect with your target audience, and when you speak to the correct audience and when they feel heard, they will pay you the premium that your business deserves.
3. Communicating Results
This is fairly self-explanatory.
Want more sales?
Show the results that you can assure to your customer.
Take it one notch higher and share how many customers your brand has served/ serviced till date.
Show the highly rated reviews from social media and make every prospect feel comfortable to get closer to their buying decision.
4. Design & Packaging
You can’t sell a car if the showroom of your brand is in a lane where a car can’t enter and/ or get parked easily.
The design and packaging are the most tangible and visual element of your brand.
Make sure you put extra time when you finalise your design and/ or packaging.
These results are generally a one-time exercise, but the impact of these decisions have a ripple effect on your business and sales.
The customer always buys through their senses, before they buy through their wallet.
5. Catering to a niche
If there is one thing you’d want to implement in your business after reading his post, this is your right choice to begin with.
Never cater to a wide market that caters to a lot of segments of the customers.
That will only harm and tarnish your brand.
For example, if you’re starting an upmarket cocktail lounge, stop trying to cater to the needs of the “family crowd” or “bunch of friends who are hanging out” or people from particular religious beliefs that don’t appreciate alcohol consumption.
If your business tries to cater to everyone in the market, you will only end up confusing your core customer and that’s going to affect your business a lot more negatively than you can imagine.
Conclusion
By no means is this an exhaustive list. However, even if (read: when) you implement these 5 aspects in your business, I can guarantee the revenues and growth of your business will be nothing short of unprecedented.
